Football Boots
Puma Football Boots
Puma Football Boots are manufactured by Puma, a large German multinational company. Started in the early 1920's, Puma was originally called Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik and manufactured running shoes. They famously sponsored Jesse Owens in the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. The company changed it's name to Ruda (after the first two letters of one of the founders, Rudolf Dassler), and then finally Puma in 1948. They went public in 1986.
A famous incident was during the World Cup Final 1970, where they paid Pele $120,000 for him to wear Puma boots. They got their money's worth, as famously he bent down to tie his shoelaces before the kick off, and showed off the Puma logo to a worldwide audience.
Puma sponsor the Italian national football team, as well as such teams as Tottenham Hotspur, Coventry City, Lazio, Monaco, Olympiakos and Falkirk.
